SAMA in Tallahassee

SAMA Executive Director, Rob Harris, along with 9 SAMA members were in Tallahassee January 24th and 25th, advocating on behalf of SAMA – Sarasota-Manatee Area Manufacturers Association, the Southwest Regional Manufacturers Association, and the #manufacturingindustry for our region.
The message? We need state legislative support, both policy and financial, for associations like ours and for the manufacturers we serve.

We met with 10 state legislators from our Suncoast/Southwest region, including:
  • Senate President Kathleen Passidomo
  • Senator Jim Boyd
  • Senator Jonathan Martin
  • Representative James Buchanan
  • Representative Mike Giallombardo
  • Representative Michael Grant
  • Representative Tommy Gregory
  • Representative Fiona McFarland
  • Representative Will Robinson
  • Representative Bob Rommel

In addition, we met with the state's Manufacturing & Supply Chain Caucus, co-chaired by Senator Tom Wright and Representative Tommy Gregory.

These behind-the-scenes events are a major reason manufacturers should support and join their region’s RMAs, such as SAMA.
