
Job Title: Final Inspector
Job Type: Full-Time M–F, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Reports To: Director of Quality
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Final Inspector to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring that all electronic assemblies meet the highest quality standards. The Final Inspector will inspect Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and Through-Hole Technology (THT) components, verify compliance with IPC-A-610 standards (Class 2 and Class 3), and collaborate with team members to maintain quality throughout production.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Inspection and Quality Control:
• Inspect SMT and Through-Hole assemblies according to IPC-A-610 Class 2 and Class 3 requirements.
• Read and interpret BOMs, drawings, and inspection criteria to verify product specifications.
• Perform process QA checks at SMT and Through-Hole workstations.
• Identify and document defects to ensure consistent product quality.
Equipment Operation and Testing:
• Operate X-ray machines and other inspection tools to verify board integrity.
• Perform functional testing of boards under supervision and independently.
• Ensure equipment is properly calibrated and maintained.
• Accurately record job times and inspection results in the system.
Leadership and Communication:
• Provide guidance and support to shop employees when defects are found.
• Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams regarding quality issues.
• Collaborate with AOI technicians to identify and implement process improvements.
• Mentor and train other inspection personnel as needed.
Documentation and Process Improvement:
• Write and update work instructions for quality processes.
• Maintain controlled documentation and organized records.
• Review defects and recommend corrective actions to reduce recurrence.
• Work independently while adhering to strict quality standards.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or IPC certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of IPC-A-610 standards (Class 2 and Class 3); certification preferred.
• Experience inspecting SMT and Through-Hole assemblies in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in operating inspection equipment (X-ray, microscopes, scopes).
• Ability to rework SMT and Through-Hole assemblies without supervision.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
Compensation:
• Starting Pay: $37,000-$45,760 annually (approx. $20–$22 /hour) depending on experience
• Potential Growth: Higher pay with experience and certifications

Physical Requirements
• Ability to sit for extended periods while performing inspections.
• Manual dexterity for handling small components and tools.
Working Conditions

• Some noise and light from machinery.
