Regional Efforts to Build YOUR Talent Pipeline
The number one discussion between SAMA's staff and manufacturers remains labor, and that is not expected to change. The Silver Tsunami (credit to Marc Simms!) has begun and in Florida, will peak in 2030. In other words, your most knowledgeable staff is aging out and you are struggling to replace them!
Career Awareness
This is where it starts. Most manufacturers are in plain white buildings, hidden in industrial parks, have never visited the classroom, and wonder why they cannot find labor, let alone skilled labor!
At SAMA, we are the dot connectors between manufacturers and education. We help organize:
- Student tours of your facility
- Your staff visiting instructors and students
- Collaboration of career awareness events and job fairs
- Roundtable discussions with all levels of education
- K-12
- Technical Colleges
- State Colleges
- Universities
- Internships and Apprenticeships
Career Opportunities
Through our members-only Community Network, we share manufacturing-related resumes for those relocating to our area or needing a new opportunity. We promote career fair events, engagement with other workforce organizations including CareerSource Suncoast, CareerEdge, Lutheran Services of Florida, Literary Council of Sarasota, The Haven, technical colleges, and more.
Many of those entities offer grant funding for new hires and upskilling your existing workforce, and we help you navigate the process.
We allow our manufacturing members to post job opportunities on SAMA's website, as we receive many inquiries about employment in our region.
Our Employment Staffing Business Partners bring great value to our manufacturers as well. They are knowledgeable with the industry, do a great job in vetting candidates, and have had great success placing qualified candidates.
Don't battle your labor issues alone. We are here to help!
